The Marion County Health Department is reporting three new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. None were students or long term care residents. All three are believed to be community spread.
There are now 47 active cases, including eight who are hospitalized including one on a ventilator.
The Clinton County Health Department is reporting 13 new positive cases on Thursday. There are 93 on home isolation and nine hospitalized.
The Jefferson County Health Department is reporting six new cases on Thursday, with 38 remaining on isolation.
Statewide, there were 1,966 new cases and 72 additional deaths. None of the deaths were in South Central Illinois. There were two apiece in St. Clair and Madison Counties.
The Statewide seven-day positivity rate fell to 2.7-percent. The Southern Illinois Region rate is down to 2.4-percent. Marion County’s rate remains at eight-tenths of a percent for the third straight day. The Metro-East positivity rate is at 4.3-percent. The East Central Illinois Region is at 3.5-percent.
Just under two-million vaccines have now been administered, including 73,091 on Wednesday.
