The Salem Wildcats fell in their Cahokia Conference opener to Freeburg 50-36.  The Cats offense struggled all night, but especially in the first half when they trailed 18-10 at the break.  Salem got 15 points from Caden Bee.  Haddon Lybarger fouled out with 9.  Sophomore Seth Bailey came in and played well in the 2nd half at the point guard position.  Colin Burgemmann led all scorers with 20 for Freeburg as the 6-7 senior dominated inside, especially in the 2nd half.  The Wildcats are 0-2 on the year and 0-1 in the league as they host Wesclin tomorrow night at B.E. Gum.  The Salem JV got 15 points from Caleb Anthony in their 48-46 victory to run their record to 1-1.
