Four fire departments battled an early Tuesday morning pole barn and garage fire northeast of Boyd.
Jefferson Fire Protection District officials say the fire was on the Bobby Voyles property on Meadows Road. The pole barn was fully involved upon their arrival and the fire had spread to a quarter of an adjoining garage. Firemen were able to save the rest of the garage and the home.
In addition to the structural damage, a vehicle and a few go-carts in the buildings were damaged or destroyed.
The cause of the fire has not been determined. There were no injuries.
Jefferson Rural Fire called Kell, Woodlawn, and Mt. Vernon City to the scene for assistance while Webber Township Firemen stood by at the Jefferson Rural Station in the event of another fire.
The Voyles family reportedly spotted the fire around three Tuesday morning. Firemen were on the scene for about an hour and a half.
