More than 400 Marion County educators received their first vaccination for COVID-19 during a mass clinic at Centralia High School on Saturday.
Centralia High School Superintendent Chuck Lane is appreciative of Marion County Health Department Administrator Missy Mallow for setting up the special clinic.
“We’ve been working with the Marion County Health Department on trying to get vaccinations for teachers and staff for awhile and we are thankful that Missy could set this up for us today. It’s a good thing that Marion County educators can come in one spot and get the vaccine.”

Lane says the clinic was “fully booked” indicating the interest from educators in getting the vaccine. Another clinic will be scheduled for the second dose.
Several educators remarked at how smooth the clinic went. A long line formed ahead of the vaccination with everyone wearing masks and staying socially distanced.
In addition to the special clinic, Mallow is hopeful of vaccinating 200 each week in Group 1B. She notes additional clinics can be set up when more vaccine becomes available.
