A 55-year-old Wamac man is being held in the Marion County Jail for criminal damage and criminal trespass to a residence and outstanding warrants.  Centralia Police arrested Ronald Courtney of Gilmore Street after receiving a complaint about a house being broken into in the 300 block of Linden Street Saturday morning.   Courtney is wanted on a Marion County failure to appear warrant in a possession of methamphetamine case and on a Washington County failure to appear warrant in a criminal trespass to property case.  Bond on the Marion County warrant is set at $5,000.   The Clinton County case had a $2,000 bond.

A 33-year-old Kinmundy woman is being held in the Marion County Jail for alleged burglary of a motor vehicle.  Michelle Ratcliff of East 1st was initially arrested by sheriff’s deputies Saturday morning after she reportedly had entered three vehicles parked at a residence in the 7,000 block of Kinlou Road east of Kinmundy.   Ratcliff was originally transported to Salem Township Hospital for treatment but was taken back into custody when reportedly causing a disturbance at the Salem Hardee’s Restaurant after being released from the hospital.

Salem Police arrested 53-year-old Jerry Vanhoutin of Markland Street in Salem for unlawful use of a weapon.   He’s accused of riding a bicycle past a car parked in the 1200 block of West Spruce on Saturday with an occupant in the passenger seat and breaking out the driver’s side window with a police-style expandable baton.   Police report locating Vanhoutin a short distance away still riding his bike.   He was arrested after allegedly being found in possession of the baton.
