State lawmakers will be able to get vaccinated against COVID-19 in the current Phase 1-B.

Governor JB Pritzker says his office received several calls from legislators concerned about exposure to the virus if they return to Springfield for session.  So, lawmakers can now sign up to get the shot.

“We need the State of Illinois and its legislature and its government to function well.  We can’t wait.  We had longer than 7 months not having any legislation and there was not any meeting of the General Assembly from May all the way through the lame-duck session.”

Governor Pritzker says personally, he wants to lead by example and wait for his turn in the vaccination process.  Some lawmakers agree and say they will also wait.
