A 22-year-old Centralia man has been arrested for domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of domestic battery. Salem Police took Oslo White of East Saddler into custody after responding to a 911 hang-up call on South Pearl Street. The dispatcher believed she heard a female in distress in the background before the line disconnected. The call was traced to the home where a female resident had reportedly been battered. Police say the victim did not require hospital treatment. White was also served with a failure to appear in court traffic warrant at the jail. Bond is set at $2,000 on the warrant.
41-year-old Melissa Joiner of East 4th in Centralia was arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies for violation of bail bond. She posted $330 cash and was released.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of a dirt bike after a shed was entered over the weekend in the 900 block of Edgewood Road.
