Centralia Police say a resident of Parkview Drive came home just after noon on Sunday to break up a burglary in progress at their home.
Police say the resident heard someone inside their home who ran out a door with several items in their hands. Those items were later found in a search of Foundation Park, but the man successfully escaped on foot.
Police report that entry had apparently been made by forcing open a back door. Part of the home was ransacked with items out of place. However, the only items missing were those found in the park.
An investigation is continuing. Police say they are looking for a suspect.
