The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 40 additional COVID-19 related deaths on Sunday, including a female in her 80s in Marion County and a female in her 70s in Clinton County.
The state is reporting 2,428 new cases. The statewide positivity rate has dropped another tenth of a percent to 3.9-percent.
However, the Metro East Region has fallen back to 18-percent availability for ICU beds. Three days above 20-percent availability is required to move to lower mitigation levels that would allow indoor dining and many sports. The region’s seven-day positivity rate remains at 7-percent which would allow for advancement.
The Southern Illinois Region’s seven-day positivity rate has dropped another three-tenths of a percent to 4.7-percent. The East Central Illinois Region positivity remains at 5.1-percent.
Marion County has the lowest seven-day positivity rate of all the counties in South Central Illinois at 3.2-percent, down a tenth of percent since the Saturday report.
