A 27-year-old Central City man has been sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty in Marion County Court to residential arson.
Nicholas Fletcher of North Park was one of two men who had been arrested last year after breaking into a home at 708 South Pine and later setting it on fire. Co-defendant Justin Pitt of Beckemeyer received a seven-year prison term after pleading guilty to residential arson in October. Both men had second counts of residential burglary to the same home dropped.
Centralia Police say at the time of the arrest the two men had been involved in a trade of sex for drugs and had used the home because they knew the occupant was out of town. After spending the night in the home, the two are accused of taking several items before setting the home on fire.
Fletcher was also ordered to serve two years parole when getting out of prison and was given credit for 305 days already served in the Marion County Jail.
