An 18-year-old Rinard woman was killed in a single-car crash on I-57 near Neoga in Cumberland County north of Effingham Wednesday afternoon.
State Police identify the victim as Janae Pollard.
Preliminary investigative details indicated Pollard was northbound when she lost control on the icy roadway and struck the guardrail. She was pronounced dead on the scene. There was no one else in the car and no other vehicle was involved.
The crash occurred at 1:13 Wednesday afternoon.
