Sandoval’s new part-time administrator is hitting the ground running outlining several projects at Tuesday night’s village board meeting.

Leann Speiser received board approval to seek a state grant to demolish six homes. She said they could apply for up to $75,000, but probably would not need that much money to complete the work. The village would still be responsible for legal costs associated with the demolition. The village would take possession of the property after the work and could sell it at some future date.

Speiser also outlined plans for a village website that would allow residents to pay their village utility bill online. The board held off approval until they can review of list of mandated items the website must contain under state law. Speiser plans to build the website herself with the domain and hosting fees totaling $268 annually.

Speiser has been meeting with department heads to become familiar with what they do on a regular basis.

The board swore in Courtney Reams as a new village board member to replace Speiser who resigned her board seat to become administrator.
