A 52-year-old Bluford man was injured in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday night on the Iuka Road near the Apple Road intersection south of Iuka.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say James Lumpkins of Thomas Street was southbound at the Blackburn curve when he said he swerved to miss a deer, ran off the road into the roadside ditch
and overturned once.
The Iuka Fire Department had to force the door open on the vehicle to get Lumpkins out. He was taken to Salem Township Hospital by United Medical Response for treatment of injuries after Air Evac could not launch to the scene due to weather conditions.
The crash occurred at 6:52 Saturday night.
