The Illinois State Police are investigating a three-vehicle traffic accident that resulted in non-life-threatening injuries in Washington County.

According to preliminary reports, 36-year-old Kenneth E. Eldridge from Gravois Mills, Missouri had parked his semi-tractor trailer on the left shoulder of Interstate 64 westbound Milepost 37 and ran back to check on another driver that had driven into the median and became stuck.  A truck driven by 40-year-old Jessica A. Welch of Donnellson was also traveling westbound on I-64 and struck the rear passenger side of the semi-trailer and also the front bumper.  Debris from the crash struck another semi driven by 35-year-old Patrick E. Taylor of Manchester, Tennessee, who was traveling next to the original semi that was struck.

Both occupants of the Eldridge semi were transported by ambulance to a regional hospital.  Welch and Taylor were uninjured.

The crash occurred Thursday afternoon at 12:55 p.m.
