Centralia Police say the driver of a dump truck escaped injury when he swerved his truck to avoid hitting a pickup truck that had slowed in front of him on Route 161 at the Edgewood Road intersection.
Police say the dump truck and trailer containing a small Bobcat flipped on their side as a result of 36-year-old Jarrod Helpsey of Country Club Road in Centralia acting to avoid a crash.
Traffic on Route 161 or East McCord was shut down until the trailer and backhoe could be removed.
