Police Beat for Friday, January 8th, 2021

Salem Police have arrested a 53-year-old Salem man on two counts of violation of the sex offender registration act. Roger Johnston of North College allegedly failed to register a social media account. He was taken to the Marion County Jail.

A 33-year-old Salem man remained in the Marion County Jail Friday after being arrested by Salem Police for aggravated assault. Steven Schultz of East Locust is accused of threatening a family member with a knife. Salem Police say there were no injuries.

Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 30-year-old Benjamin Glasscock of Warden Road in Salem for domestic battery.

Five others were arrested on outstanding warrants.

 19-year-old Blake Smith of East Third in Centralia was returned to Marion County to face a failure to appear in court warrant for a possession of methamphetamine case. Bond is set at $25,000.

 39-year-old Ryan Whigham of St. Louis also arrived via prisoner transport for failing to appear for a sentencing hearing on a petition to revoke his probation in a possession of stolen vehicle case. Bond is
set at $15,000.

 23-year-old Cory Miller of West Warmoth in Salem was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear in court warrant for domestic battery. Bond is set at $3,000.

 42-year-old Larry Sharp of Bloomington was transported from the Jefferson County Jail where he was arrested on a petition to revoke his probation on a theft charge.

 22-year-old Lucas Bone of Community Beach Road in Centralia turned himself in on a failure to appear warrant in a pending possession of methamphetamine and aggravated fleeing case. He posted $500 bond and was released.
