The Marion County Health Department reported 106 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, but no additional deaths.   However, there were 126 more deaths statewide, including a female in her 90s in Jefferson County and a female in her 80s in Fayette County.

In Marion County, 88 of the new cases are considered community spread and 18 are from household or close contacts.   Seven of the cases are students, but none were in school during their infectious period.  None of the cases were in long term care residents.

There are currently 317 active cases, including 18 in the hospital.  Four of those are on ventilators.   There were none released from isolation, with a total of 3,069 recovered.

Clinton County had 59 new cases.  336 are on home isolation and 12 are hospitalized.

The Jefferson County Health Department is reporting 49 new positives, including five long term care residents.  204 positives are currently in isolation.

Washington County reported 43 new lab-confirmed cases on Thursday and Friday.  there are now 119 active cases and seven hospitalized.

Fayette County is reporting 29 new cases, one linked to a congregate-care facility.

Clay County reported seven new cases on Thursday.

Wayne County Health Department is reporting 20 lab-confirmed cases.  131 are currently isolating and two are hospitalized.

There were 9,277 new cases statewide.  The statewide positivity rate for the past seven days remains at 8.5-percent.   The Southern Illinois Region seven day positivity rate is 11.4-percent.  The Marion County rate is 11.5-percent.  The Metro East Region positivity rate remains at 13.5-percent.  The East Central Illinois Region is currently at 9.5-percent positivity.
