Harold Gary Foltz, 84, of Patoka walked into the loving arms of Jesus last night, Tuesday, January 5, 2021 with his family by his side loving him. Diana softly and sweetly sang hymns and it was when she sang Blessed Assurance and softly kissed him that he went home. He was a sweet, kind man who is no doubt talking right now in Heaven. Gary served in the United States Army with pride from 1960-1962 where he was stationed in Germany. Gary managed an Oliver Equipment dealership at Sandoval with his Dad, after coming home from the Army. Known as a man with an unfailing work ethic, he worked at Lange Equipment in Patoka as parts man for many years and was the fuel man for Nattier Oil Co for a few years. He loved farming, feeling at home on his tractor and worked as a farmer for 60 years until his retirement in 2015. Gary truly treasured spending time with his boys at Foltz Welding and his farming shed and was proud of their farming legacy. He was a supporter of the community he called home and served 15 plus years on the Patoka Fire Department. He was a spiritual man and a devout Christian at Patoka Christian Church in Patoka where he led by example. Gary had a passion for traveling with his wife, Diana. The couple were able to visit many beautiful destinations together and create lasting memories of God’s masterpieces. Gary enjoyed bike riding for good exercise, roller skating, and snowmobiling, and was an avid reader. He was a true gentleman, had a mild-mannered nature and kind to everyone. Gary will be deeply missed by his wife, children, and all who knew him.
