The Wamac City Council is frustrated with Charter communications and is delivering the large cable operator an ultimatum.
No more franchise extensions without long-promised expansion of service to those in the city limits who currently cannot receive cable.
The council recently approved a new franchise agreement, so Charter has several years to complete the promised service to outlying areas of the city before facing the loss of their franchise.
In other action, the Wamac Board gave Police Chief Steve Prather a $1.50 an hour pay increase, a public works employee a 50-cent an hour increase, and the rest of the city staff a $1 an hour pay raise. All are retroactive to the beginning of the year.
