The Marion County Health Department is reporting four more COVID-19 related deaths on Tuesday. That brings the number of deaths since the pandemic began to 104.
The deaths include a male in his 70s and three males in their 80s. None were long term care residents.
The health department is also reporting 37 new cases. One of the positives is school age but is homeschooled. None were long term care residents. 26 of the new cases are considered community spread. The other 11 are the result of spread from household or close contacts.
There are now 233 active cases. 25 of those are hospitalized and four are on ventilators. The number of recovered remains at 2,944, with none released from isolation on Tuesday.
The Clinton County Health Department reported 27 new cases. 367 remain on isolation and eight are hospitalized.
The Jefferson County Health Department is reporting 28 new positive cases. 181 are currently in isolation.
Fayette County is reporting eight new cases.
The Clay County Health Department is reporting 13 new cases on Monday.
Statewide there were 6,839 new confirmed or probable cases of coronavirus disease. IDPH also reported 126 additional deaths.
The statewide positivity rate for the past seven days is 8.5-percent. The Southern Illinois Region positivity is at 11.5-percent. The Marion County rate fellow below double figures to 9.7-percent. The Metro East Region positivity is 13-percent. The East Central Region positivity is at 9.1-percent.
