After most schools going full remote learning prior to the Christmas break, all but two Marion County districts are scheduled to return to their hybrid learning plans this week.

Salem Community High School had already planned to remain on full remote learning through next Monday, January 11th, while Schiller Grade School in the Centralia City Grade School District has gone full remote this week due to the number of positive cases and quarantines for students and staff.

Superintendent Craig Clark announced on New Year’s Eve the district did not have enough staff at Schiller to allow in-person learning.   He’s hoping to return to the normal learning plan at Schiller next Monday.

All other Centralia City Grade Schools will return to in-person learning as originally scheduled this week.

Salem High School Superintendent Dr. Brad Detering wanted the extra week to try and avoid a large number of new cases as a result of cases from those traveling for the holidays. He also feels their full remote plan has worked well since students are required to log in for each class live each day.
