Police Beat for Tuesday, December 29th, 2020

A 27-year-old Centralia man has been arrested by Centralia Police for possession of a stolen vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle, and on an outstanding Marion County DUI failure to appear warrant.   Dereck Woods of East 16th reportedly had stolen a vehicle belonging to his aunt.   After the report was filed, police spotted Woods in a tobacco store drive-through.   Woods was taken into custody without further incident and later transported to the Marion County Jail.

Centralia Police have arrested a 20-year-old Salem man for possession of methamphetamine, driving on a suspended license, and obstructing justice.  Anthony Dickerson of East Boone was taken into custody following a traffic stop at 6th and Short Street.   He allegedly gave a false name leading to the obstruction charge.

A 28-year-old Wamac man was arrested by Centralia Police for alleged domestic battery.  Andrew Murphy of West Peach was arrested at a home on North Cherry following an altercation with a girlfriend.   No injuries were reported.  Murphy was taken to the Marion County Jail.
