Police Beat for Wednesday, December 16th, 2020

Salem Police have arrested a 33-year-old Wamac man for possession of methamphetamine. Timothy Burton of West 16th was reportedly found slumped over in a car at a business in the 1500 block of West Main Street.

Police say they eventually woke Burton who then was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine. He was taken to the Marion County Jail. 47-year-old James Hefner of North Jefferson in Kell was arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies for violation of bail bond.

Two others remain n jail on outstanding warrants. 27-year-old James Venters of North Shelby in Salem was arrested by sheriff’s deputies on a felony failure to appear warrant on a possession of methamphetamine conviction. Bond is set at $5,000. 44-year-old Christopher Reagan of South Sycamore in Centralia was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a pending possession of methamphetamine charge. He’s also being held in lieu of $5,000 bond.

Two more brought to jail on outstanding failure to appear in court warrants were later released after posting $500 bond apiece. 43-year-old Lentor Gordon of South Marion Street in Salem was arrested on a warrant involving a battery case. 25-year-old Trevor Langford of Norton Road in Odin was arrested by Centralia Police on a warrant involving a possession of methamphetamine case.
