MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Brad Davison and D’Mitrik Trice each scored 17 points as No. 12 Wisconsin capitalized on its sizzling 3-point shooting to beat Loyola of Chicago 77-63 on Tuesday night. Wisconsin went 10 of 18 on 3s and made four of those long-range attempts during a 19-2 run. The teams set up this game just a couple of days ago after the pandemic had both dealing with cancellations. COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Big Ten administrators changed a rule so No. 3 Ohio State could play for a Big Ten championship on Saturday, despite only having played five games this season. Now the Buckeyes want to prove they belong there and beat No. 15 Northwestern decisively enough that the College Football Playoff committee will take note. Ohio State is No. 4 in the CFP and would benefit from a big win that could solidify the ranking and put it in a playoff semifinal game on New Year’s Day. Ohio State had three games canceled this season due to COVID-19 issues.

CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Bulls come into the season with an overhauled front office and a new coach. They hired Arturas Karnisovas to lead their basketball operation and Marc Eversley as general manager. They hired Billy Donovan as the new coach. The roster is largely inact after Chicago finished 11th in the Eastern Conference and didn’t advance to the playoff bubble in Florida. It was the fourth time in five years the Bulls missed the playoffs. Chicago will be led again by Zach LaVine, who averaged a career-high 25.5 points in his sixth year in the NBA and third with the Bulls.

ROSEMONT, Ill. (AP) — Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields is the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year. The vote for Fields by the conference’s coaches and media was hardly a surprise considering how dominant he and No. 3 Ohio State have been. The junior leads the nation in completion percentage and the Big Ten in total yards per game by a wide margin at 392.2. He has 1,407 yards passing with 15 touchdowns and three interceptions in five games. The Buckeyes are 5-0 and scheduled to play Northwestern in the Big Ten championship game in Indianapolis on Saturday.
