2020 12/16 – Larry J. Torgler

Larry J. Torgler passed away on December 7, 2020, @ 8:45 pm with his daughter, Tracy and wife Alice by his side at his home in Winter Haven, FL. Larry graduated from Immaculate Conception School the class of 1952. He then attended COE College and completed his education at the University of Minnesota.

Per Larry’s wishes, he was cremated. Funeral Mass will be conducted at St Matthews Catholic Church with burial in the Columbarium in Winter Haven, Florida on Wednesday, December 16th at 9:00 am. Funeral Mass will also be held at St Teresa’s Church in Salem at a date to be determined.

He married Patricia J Nauman in 1957. She survives in Dubuque Iowa. They had 3 children and later divorced. After leaving Iowa and moving to Centralia IL he married Alice Stevenson in 1989. She survives in Winter Haven FL. Larry is survived by his children, son Tim (Ann) Torgler of Iowa and daughters, Traci (Bruce) Osterhaus of Georgia, Kristin (Glenn) Young of Wisconsin. Step Children, Scott (Tina) Stevenson, Lisa Slater all from Odin IL and Sherri (Vaugh) Hanna of Peoria IL. 11 grandchildren, Cody (Lindsey) Torgler, Ashley (Matt) Striplin, Emily (Melissa) Pittman, Rebecca (Mike) Riva, Jacob (Lexi) Hanna, Zachary Hanna and fiancé Krisitn Harms, Hanna Torgler, Emma Torgler, Glenn Slater, Grayson Stevenson and Jaryn Stevenson. Great-grandchildren, Everly and Josie Torgler, Hudson Hanna & McKinley Striplin and one on the way. Larry is survived by two brothers, Ronald (Dale) Torgler and George (Linda) Torgler. Larry also leaves behind many friends and two very special friends, Len and Sue Rose.

Larry was born in Cedar Rapids Iowa on September 6, 1934, to Russell and Delphine Torgler. He was proceeded in death by his parents and a sister Nancy (Fred ) Ertl.
