Large tree limb crushes part of roof of Centralia home

A two-foot diameter tree limb from a large oak tree fell onto the roof of a Centralia home early this morning crushing part of the roof.

Centralia City Firemen say fortunately the Brittany McFall family at 1300 block of East 6th were asleep at the other end of the home when the big limb came down.    The limb was so large it also fell onto the corner of a neighbors house causing damage there as well.

The limb also landed partially on a power line, putting stress on it until Ameren rerouted service until the tree could be removed.

The incident occurred at 3:44 Friday morning.   There was no wind or any apparent reason for the limb to fail.
