The Marion County Health Department has announced five more COVID-19 related deaths.  All but one of the deaths occurred in a long-term care facility.  Those who passed away are a female in her 70s, two females in their 80s, and two males in their 80s.  There have now been 71 deaths in residents who have tested positive for COVID-19.

The health department is also reporting 76 new cases over the weekend and Monday.  Five are long term care facility residents.  Four are students, but only one was in class during their infectious period.  Contract tracing is underway on the student.   32 of the new cases are considered community spread and 44 as a result of household or close contacts.

There are now 349 active cases in Marion County, including ten who are hospitalized and two who are on ventilators.   There are 1,911 who are now listed as recovered, including 109 who have been released over the weekend and on Monday.

The Clinton County Health Department is reporting 92 positive cases over the weekend and Monday.   There are now 607 on home isolation and 19 who are hospitalized.  After weekend deaths, 61 have died from COVID-19 related causes.

Jefferson County reported 91 new cases over the three day period.  The county now has 236 active cases in isolation.  A death of a female over the weekend brings the county’s death toll from COVID-19 related cases to 48.

The Washington County Health Department is reporting 31 new lab-confirmed cases over the weekend and Monday.  There are now 145 active cases and four who are hospitalized.   A weekend death brings the number of deaths of those testing positive to COVID-19 to three.

 

The Fayette County Health Department is reporting 147 new positive cases since Friday.  49 of those are from a congregate care facility.  The department is also reporting three deaths over the three day period.

 

The Wayne County Health Department is reporting six new cases.  153 are currently on isolation and six are currently hospitalized.
