Centralia Township Caucus results released (updated 7:30 pm December 3rd)

By News Dec 3, 2020 | 8:31 AM

There will be a contest for many of the open positions in Centralia Township in the April Election.

Appointed Democratic Supervisor Debbie Young is seeking election and will be challenged by Republican Tim McCanee who is an employee of the Centralia Township Highway Department.

Appointed Democratic Township Assessor Bob Feig will be challenged by Republican Tammy Guidish.

Incumbent Republican Road Commissioner Steve Smith is currently unopposed following the caucus.

The Republicans have a full slate for the four open trustee positions. They include incumbent Bill Nitz, along with Adam Smith, David Iossi, and Jeff Mashburn.

The Democrats caucused in three candidates for trustee. They are incumbent Gary Jo Sanders and appointed trustee Greg Schwartz as well as Wayne Houser.

The only candidate for Township Clerk is incumbent Democrat Butch Border.

There were no contested elections for ballot positions in either caucus.  Open positions can be filled by the parties through December 14th.

This story has been updated to indicate Wayne House is running for a trustee position and NOT road commissioner.  The initial results from the Democratic caucus had incorrect information.
