Centralia Fire Protection District firefighters were called about 3:30 Saturday afternoon to what turned out to be a “controlled burn” of demolition materials after a passerby reported a structure fire in the 1400 block of the Walnut Hill Road southeast of Centralia.  The passerby reported what appeared to be a small shed on fire, but it was near other structures.

Firefighters arrived to find a small house that was being torn down on fire and worked to keep it from spreading to a nearby garage as well as extinguish a small grass fire.
