A 35-year-old Mt. Vernon woman was injured in a single-car crash in Williamson County in deep Southern Illinois early Saturday morning.
Preliminary investigation by State Police indicates the car driven by Holly Stewart was traveling south on Illinois Route 148 near Grassy Road when she ran off the right side of the road and overturned. She was ejected from the vehicle.
Stewart was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries She was ticketed for driving on a revoked license, operating an uninsured vehicle, improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and failure to wear a seatbelt by a driver.
The crash occurred at 5:25 Saturday morning.
