State Police say northbound I-57 was closed to all traffic at mile marker 85 in Jefferson County early Monday morning.
Preliminary investigation indicates a truck driven by 36-year-old Marvin Casey of Batesville Missouri was traveling in the right lane when entering a construction zone with concrete barriers. He reported a passenger car in the left lane crossed the centerline and drifted into his lane of travel. Casey says he swerved to avoid the car and struck the concrete barrier and came to stop in the right lane.
Casey was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with n in-life threatening injuries.
The crash closed northbound I-57 traffic for three hours beginning at 2:42 Monday morning.
