Jimmy Dale Thomas, age 85 of Farina, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at his home in Farina.
Jimmy was a Deacon and song leader at the Farina First Baptist Church. He was a teacher for 32 years in Farina and later at South Central. He served in the United States Army. He enjoyed tinkering and was happy to help anyone that needed a car, truck, or lawnmower fixed.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at 12:15 pm at the Farina Cemetery with Ron Mulvaney officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until 12:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Farina. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, the Parkinson’s Foundation, or the Farina First Baptist Church and can be received at the Crouse Funeral Home who is assisting the family with arrangements. Jimmy was born on October 8, 1935, in Seminole, Oklahoma, the son of Barney and Nellie (Milton) Thomas. He married Patsy Keplinger on October 3, 1958, in Centralia and she survives in Farina.
In addition to his wife Patsy Thomas, he is survived by four sons, David Lee Thomas and wife Peggy of Algonquin, Joseph Daniel Thomas and wife Lisa of Plainfield, Mark Allen Thomas of Farina and James Matthew Thomas and wife Mary of Albuquerque, NM; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Lloyd Thomas and wife Clara of Salem and Tommy Joe Thomas and wife Shirley of Dow.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Virgil Thomas and Billy Thomas.
