The Circuit Judges in the Fourth Judicial District that includes Marion, Clinton, Fayette, Clay, Effingham and four other counties have elected a new Chief Judge.
Douglas Jarman was selected to replace Kimberly Koester who is retiring as a judge at the end of the year.
Jarman resides in Montgomery County with his wife. They have three children and three grandchildren. He was in private practice for 25 years in Hillsboro before being appointed to the bench in 2009 and then elected in 2010 and retained in 2016.
Jarman says he is honored to have been selected and feels he is well qualified to handle the position.
Koester said Judge Jarman is a proven and respected leader who will continue to guide the Fourth Judicial Circuit’s criminal and civil justice
system with excellence.
