The Marion County Sheriff’s Department has completed reports on an early Saturday morning crash at the south edge of Sandoval that sent the driver to a St. Louis Hospital for treatment.
Reports indicate Jacob Branton of West Warmoth in Salem was traveling northbound on Old U.S. 51 near the Colonial Mobile Park when he lost control while traveling at an estimated 70 miles per hour. Branton’s pickup truck ended up on top of a guardrail.
Branton was taken from the scene to a home in Junction City where an ambulance was called to take him to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. He was later transferred to a St. Louis Hospital for treatment. Branton was ticketed for speeding and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
The crash occurred at 12:45 Saturday morning.
