Bryan Bennett Library hold Family Reading Celebration

By News Nov 16, 2020 | 11:42 AM

The Bryan-Bennett Library will be holding a Family Reading Celebration beginning Monday through Saturday, November 21st.

During that time, patrons can pick up cloth book bags that contain goodies for the entire family including pens and note pads from area businesses; popcorn; hand sanitizers; and a variety of activity sheets and fun doodads for the children.

Parents and grandparents are welcome to pick up the bags, as long as supplies last, by stopping by the Library at 315 South Maple in Salem. Library Director Kim Keller says with Covid-19 causing so many uncertainties, Bryan-Bennett Library is changing up the Family Reading Night routine by promoting a week-long celebration of the time-honored tradition of parents and grandparents sharing the love of books with youngsters.

For 29 years, the Secretary of State’s office has coordinated Family Reading Night activities to encourage families to spend quality time reading together. Keller adds as cooler weather sets in, now is the perfect time to grab a few good books and spend a cozy family evening reading.
