Governor JB Pritzker is extending the ban on evictions in Illinois, but there will now be some restrictions.

The governor says the eviction moratorium will last another 30 days, but will only apply to renters who really need the help.

Pritzker says, “In line with the CDC eviction ban, only renters who have earned no more than $99,000 in annual income or $198,000 as joint filers for this calendar year are covered under this extension.”

Renters will have to submit a declaration to their landlords saying they can’t pay because of loss of income due to COVID-19. That form will be available online at: ihda.org
