The Iuka Grade School will be switching to full remote learning on Monday.
Superintendent John Consolino says they will be finishing out the day today and students will bring everything home they need for remote learning.
Students are currently scheduled to return to school after the Thanksgiving break on Monday, November 30th.
Consolino reports the decision was made to go to full remote as a result of two staff testing positive, a growing number of students being sent home with symptoms and a large increase in number of students on quarantine. He says the number on quarantine had been averaging 40 to 45 a day but jumped to 60 to 65 in the past few days.
Consolino says teachers will be available for student and parent communication for Remote Learning daily from 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM. If you have questions about school work, please contact your teacher via email. If, for some reason, your child needs something from the school during remote learning, please call the office and arrangements will be made for you.
The Iuka Grade School District will be offering sack lunches, beginning on Monday, for any families that would like them. Pickups for lunches will be Monday and Wednesdays from 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM. You will need to call the office to get on the list if you want to participate.
Watch for further announcements on any change to the Monday, November 30th, return date.
