The Marion County Health Department is reporting 45 new positive COVID-19 cases over the weekend and on Monday.  One of the new cases is a long-term care resident and three are school age.  The Health Department is only having to do contact tracing on one of the students since the other two were not at school during their infectious period.  27 of the cases are considered community spread and 18 are household/close contacts.

The health department reports a total of 244 active cases at the present time, including 23 who are hospitalized.  Two of those in the hospital are on vents.   There were 74 who recovered over the weekend and on Monday, bringing the total recovered to 1,023.

The positive cases range from two boys under 12, two females in their teens to two males and two females in their 80s.  All are on isolation.

The Clinton County Health Department is reporting 96 new positive cases.  There are currently 366 on home isolation and 12 who are hospitalized.

The Jefferson County Health Department is reporting 99 new cases over the past three days ranging in age from five under 13, six teens, to a male in his 80s.  There are currently 245 active cases in isolation.

The Washington County Health Department is reporting 47 new cases since Friday.  Cases range from one male under five to three in their 80s.  There are now 58 active cases and one who is hospitalized.

The Fayette County Health Department is reporting 51 new cases and 25 new probable cases from Friday through Sunday.  There are now 176 active cases and 58 active probable cases.

The Clay County Health Department is reporting 52 new cases from Friday through Sunday, the largest number reported during a three day period in Clay County to date.  Positive cases range from four under 12, three teens to five in their 70s.

The Wayne County Health Department is reporting three new cases of COVID-19 on Monday.   There are now 122 isolating at home and two who are hospitalized.

Statewide, there were 10,573 new cases of COVID-19 reported on Monday along with 14 additional deaths.  None of the deaths were in Southern Illinois.

The Statewide positivity rate is now at 11.4-percent for the past seven days.   The Southern Illinois Region positivity rate has increased to 11.5-percent.   The Marion County rate has dipped to 9.5-percent.   The Metro East Region is up to 12.4-percent.   The East Central Illinois Region is up to 11.3-percent.
