Pauline June Mick, 81, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away on November 8, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri. Pauline worked as a member of the cleanup crew for Defender Industries for nineteen years. She was a member of Harlan Road Church of God and enjoyed volunteering her time with the Crossroads Auxiliary. She is dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2020, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Campbell and Reverend Ted Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Pauline’s honor to Crossroads Auxiliary. Please remember to observe social distancing at this time. We are limited to 25 people in our building at a time. Pauline is survived by her four children, Venita Wallace and husband, Brian of Johnston City, Robert Dean Mick of Mount Vernon, Ray Mick and wife, Audrey Kimbro of Fairview Heights, and Larry Mick and wife, Jerri of Maryville, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Jami Hickey, Casey Mick, Ashley Mick, Jennifer Almaroad, Alecia Marks, and Bryce Kimbro; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Juanita Pace; special cousin, Geraldine O’Brien; and several nieces and nephews.
She was born May 12, 1939, in McLeansboro, Illinois to the late Clarence and Mayme (Cralley) Bennett. Pauline married Robert Mick on April 12, 1958 and he preceded her in death on July 4, 2003. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Pauline was preceded in death by an infant sister and her brother, Clarence Bennett.
