Evan R. Curry, 80, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 9:25 pm on November 6, 2020, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Saturday mornings were special days when Evan would have breakfast with his friends. He was a self-employed truck driver for his entire life and especially enjoyed driving his green Mack truck.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2020, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Reverend Merle Fullerton officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois Memorials may be made in Evan’s honor to the Bluford Church of God. Please remember to observe social distancing at this time. We are limited to 25 people in our building at a time. The family has requested that everyone in attendance wears a mask. Evan married Beverly A. (Withrow) Curry on February 11, 1961, in Mount Vernon, Illinois. In addition to his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Evan is survived by his daughter, Cheryl McCauley and husband, Tod of Tucson, Arizona; grandson, Cameron McCauley of Reston, Virginia; and cousin, Mario Crowder and wife, Toni of Mount Vernon, Illinois.
He was born on October 7, 1940, in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Cyril A. and Wilma (Harris) Curry. In addition to his parents, Evan was preceded in death by his sister, Vermadell Curry.
