A 24-year-old Centralia man has been arrested in connection with an August shooting at Kerr and Pine in Centralia that left a pregnant Centralia woman critically injured.

Lorenzo Cross of North Maple Street was returned to Marion County on Thursday from Lake County near Chicago where he was arrested on an outstanding Marion County warrant charging aggravated battery with use of a firearm. Bond on the warrant is set at $150,000.

Centralia Police Chief Greg Dodson says Cross is believed to be the boyfriend of the shooting victim, 28-year-old Mylisha Scott of Centralia. Dodson says Cross was in a vehicle with Scott when he became involved in an exchange of gunfire with another man who has been identified as 28-year-old Terrance
Jones of Centralia.

Dodson says several of the gunshots struck the woman, including in the head. The baby was delivered in the emergency room. Cross was not injured. Jones was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg and has not been charged in connection with the shooting at the present time. He remains in the Marion County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond on an unrelated child pornography case.

Dodson says they are still awaiting the result of ballistics from the State Crime Lab to determine which gun fired the shots that injured Scott.

Dodson says the woman who was critically wounded continues to undergo rehabilitation for her injuries.
