The FBI joined Centralia Police in executing a search warrant Thursday morning on a home in the 700 block of South Cherry Street.
The warrant was executed as a result of an ongoing drug investigation by investigators from the Centralia Police Department and FBI Task Force Officers.
Centralia Police Chief Greg Dodson says during the search, additional drugs were located.
Charges relating to the operation will be filed by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois. At this time, the names of those under investigation have not been released.
The operation was the result of an ongoing investigation conducted by the FBI and local Law Enforcement officers assigned to the Federal Drug Task Force. This operation involved Agents from the Fairview Heights FBI office as well as officers from the Carlyle Police Department, Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, Salem Police, and Centralia Police Departments. Dodson says these types of operations are an example of local law enforcement working in partnership with Federal agencies to combat the drug problems in the Centralia area.
