Republican State Representative Blaine Wilhour easily won election to his second term during Tuesday’s election.
Wilhour carried Marion, Clinton, Fayette, and Bond County while losing to David Seiler in his home county of Effingham. The final vote tally was 28,944 for Wilhour and 11,882 for Seiler.
In Marion County, Wilhour beat Seiler 12,358 to 4,408.
Republican State Representative Charlie Meier also easily won re-election, defeating Democrat Kacie Weicherding 45,285 votes to 15,904.
