Salem’s Ivy Donoho finished the 2020 cross country season placing 78th out of 115 runners in the Class 2a Sectional Saturday at Olney Central College.  Donoho finished in a time of 21:56, her best 3 mile time this season.

Chatham Glenwood won the girls title with Mahomet Seymour 2nd, Mascoutah, Mt Zion and Highland round out the top 5.  Charleston was 10th and Olney 11th.  Also individually, Mt Vernon’s Britney Brown was 16th in a time of 19:58.11.  Rochester’s Colleen Ziebert was the meet champ in 18:14.91.

In the boys race, Mascoutah was the sectional champion over Chatham Glenwood 72-84 with Marion 3rd followed by Mahomet Seymour and Olney.  Carbondale was 7th, Highland 10th.  Individually, Alex Partlow of Carbondale won the race in 15:32.36.  Mt Vernon’s Kevin Perkins was 26th in 16:45.99 and Trey Mygatt was 39th in 17:03.45.  Cory Fleeman of Centralia was sandwiched in between at 33rd in 16:54.87.

In 1a sectional running at Althoff on the boy’s side it was Benton nipping Pinckneyville 63-78 for the team title with Freeburg 3rd, Althoff and DuQuoin 4-5.  Wesclin was 6, Mater Dei 8th, Christ Our Rock 9th, Nashville 12th.  Wesclin’s Justin Mumford won the race in a time of 15:19.93.  Mater Dei’s Tommy Marron was 10th, Christ Our Rock’s Zach McKowen was7th in 16:34.78 & Sam Britt was 11th in 17:05.07.  Also for the Stallions, Nikcoly Bierbaum was 42nd, Ryan Wuebbels 63rd, Landon Langenhorst 106th.

In the girls race, DuQuoin was the meet champion followed by Hamilton County, Benton, Pinckneyville and Freeburg.  Breese Central was 6, Mater Dei 7, Nashville 10.  Ansley Bailey of Massac County was the meet champion 40 seconds ahead of Breese Central’s Kristen Ess who was 2nd.  Sarah McKowen of Christ Our Rock was 6th in 20:06.68.  Mater Dei was led by Alexis Kampwerth in 26th.
