Barbara Jean (Stone) Hughey, 86, of Benton, Illinois, passed away at 6:30 am November 2, 2020, at Benton Rehab Health Care in Benton. Mrs. Hughey spent her life caring for her children and she will be dearly missed.
A Graveside Service will be held Friday, November 6, 2020, at 1:00 pm at Opdyke Cemetery in Opdyke, Illinois. Interment will follow. Memorials may be made in Barbara’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association. Please remember to observe social distancing at this time. Barbara is survived by her sons, Edward “Bud” Hughey of Benton, Illinois, John Hughey of Mount Vernon, Illinois; daughters, Paula Richardson and husband, Dennis of Whitesberg, Georgia, Sally Linville and husband, Robbie of Waltonville, Illinois; grandchildren, David Hughey, Michael Richardson, Jennifer Rigsby, Jessica Martin, Josh Linville, Jerrica Owens, Alex Hughey, and Curshell McCoy.; great-grandchildren, Jasmine Hughey, Cody Watson, Mason Richardson, Logan Rigsby, Ava Rigsby, Blaze Stroud, Zane Stroud, Damien Martin, Thaddeus Martin, Mason Linville, and Finn Owens.
She was born January 11, 1934, in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Lee Edward and Irene (Bayne) Stone. Barbara married Cecil Hughey Sr. and he preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her daughters, Debbie Hughey and Carol Lee Hughey; son, Cecil Hughey, Jr., brothers, Bill, Lee, Richard, and Jimmy Hughey, Donnie and Bobby Stone; sisters, Dorothy Hughey and Judy Woodward.
