The East Central Illinois Region that includes Fayette, Clay, and Effingham Counties will face additional mitigations beginning Monday as the positivity rate in the region has stayed above eight-percent for three straight days.
The mitigation efforts include no indoor bar or restaurant service, tables six feet apart, outside service stopping at eleven pm, and reservations required for each party. Meetings, social events, and gatherings are limited to the lesser of 25 guests or 25 percent of the overall room capacity. No party buses. Gaming and casinos close at 11 pm and are limited to 25 percent of capacity.
The Illinois Department of Public Health also announced 49 counties are now at a warning level for having a positivity rate of over 8-percent. Marion County has rejoined the list this week that also includes, Clay, Clinton, Effingham, Washington, and Wayne Counties in South Central Illinois.
The Southern Illinois Regional positivity rate jumped six-tenths of a percent on Friday to 9.7-percent. Marion County’s rate increased to 9.2-percent. Jefferson County has a rate of just 5.5-percent, a half-percent drop from Thursday. The Wayne County Rate is at 10.6-percent.
In the Metro-East Region, the overall positivity rate increased two-tenths of a percent to 8.7-percent. Clinton County’s rate is at 14.4-percent for the second day in a row. Washington County’s rate is at 17-percent positivity.
In the East Central Illinois Region, the positivity rate has bumped up to 8.6-percent. The Clay County rate is 10.3-percent. Fayette County is at 6.1-percent. Effingham County is at 10.8-percent.
