Verlia M. Lawrence Drury, age 89 of Salem, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at her Home.
Verlia was a member of the Community of Christ Church. She was active in the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed crocheting and working on counted cross stitch.
Graveside services for Verlia M. Lawrence Drury will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 19, 2020, at Poplar Creek Cemetery in Orchardville with Kenny Cripps officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to The Donor’s Choice and left at the Crouse Funeral Home who is assisting the family with arrangements. Verlia was born on April 1, 1931, in Bernie, Missouri the daughter of Thomas and Bertha M. (Jackson) McGowen. She married Wilburn H. Lawrence on April 27, 1963, in Geneva Illinois and he preceded her in death on August 11, 2006. She later married James Hamilton Drury on July 16, 2007, and he also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, Steven A. Lawrence of Collinsville; daughters, Jan Pedersen and husband George of Bucyrus, Ohio, and Debbie Rippy of Clinton, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Pamela Cross of St. Charles, IL; one sister, Thelma Brown of Dexter, MO; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; and one son, Wilson Cross Jr.
