Two semi-trucks crashed at a prior crash site on U.S. 45 near 690 North in Wayne County Thursday morning.
State Police say Wayne Fatheree was injured when his truck was stopped in the southbound lanes of the roadway for a downed utility pole and telephone line from the prior wreck when 27-year-old Azamat Pardaev of Brooklyn, New York approached the stopped traffic when cresting a hill in the northbound lane. He was unable to slow in time and swerved into the other lane to avoid the stopped vehicles and hit Fatheree’s truck head-on.
Fatheree was flown to a regional hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Paradaev was not injured. He was ticketed for improper lane usage.
U.S. 45 was closed for about six hours during the crash investigation.
