All those working at the General Tire complex just outside of Mt. Vernon were evacuated from the plant for about four hours after a bomb scare was received at 6:43 Saturday morning.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Blaine Uhls says the Secretary of State Bomb Squad was called in to go through the buildings. Nothing was found.
The department is continuing to investigate who was responsible.
