In Class S, Willow Grove /St. Mary’s Centralia moves on after a come from behind win over Elverado. Down 7-2 going into the 6th inning the Wildcards rallied for a 9-8 Victory.  Maddy Francois led the Wildcards in the circle going 7 innings while striking out 10.  The offense banged out 13 hits and was led by Olivia Neudeckers 3 hits including a triple, 2 runs scored, and 2 rbis.  Maddy Francois helped herself with 3 hits with 2 doubles and 2 runs scored, Kylie Nalewajka added 2 hits including a triple with 3 rbis and a run scored, Rylee Dearing added 2 hits with 1 run scored,  Emrie Quick had a hit and 2 runs scored, while Mackenzie Perez and Reese Koester each added a hit.  Wildcards will be back in action Saturday @ 11am.

Dongola beat Cypress 10-6, Coulterville over St Boniface, Edwardsville 7-1, New Hope over Summersville 8-6.

In Class L softball state quarterfinals it was Carlyle over Triad 5-4, Murphysboro beat Red Bud 13-0, Carmi over Hamilton County 11-4 and Carterville shutout Marion 6-0.

In Class M softball, it was NCOE over Rome 7-2, Crab Orchard 12-8 over Jonesboro, Pinckneyville beat Thompsonville 8-3.  Nashville’s 5-1 win over Okawville with Nashville being coached by Franklin Park baseball coach Tyson Moore’s wife Tiereny with both teams in their respective final fours.
